How Mission works with Stanley Martin Homes buyers

Their team sells the homes. We work only for you, if you want that.

Stanley Martin Homes’s on-site team knows these communities and will work with you directly if you prefer. Want your own representation instead? We protect your registration on day one, walk the lot with you, press for incentives and closing-cost help, review the contract and design-center pricing, and inspect at pre-drywall and final. Because Stanley Martin Homes typically pays the buyer’s agent, this usually costs you nothing, confirmed in writing before you sign. Here are the pros and cons of having your own agent.

Transparency note. Mission Realty is an independent brokerage and is not affiliated with Stanley Martin Homes. Stanley Martin Homes does not pay to be featured here. If that changes, this line will say so.

Is Stanley Martin Homes a good builder?

The questions buyers actually ask us, answered plainly.

Honest answers, builder-neutral. We keep these current through the monthly refresh.

Is Stanley Martin Homes a good builder?

Stanley Martin is a large, established builder with a long track record and a 2021 national Builder of the Year award. In Richmond its strength right now is attached homes, garage townhomes and townhome-style condos, at prices that get you into Henrico and Chesterfield for less than most detached new construction. As with any production builder, the finish quality depends on the local crews, so budget for your own pre-drywall and final inspections.

Can you negotiate with Stanley Martin Homes?

Base prices on production townhomes do not move much. The room is usually in closing-cost help and rate buydowns through the builder’s lender, and in the quick move-in homes, where incentives concentrate. We track what Stanley Martin is offering in Richmond each month.

Do you need your own agent to buy a Stanley Martin Homes home?

No. Stanley Martin Homes’s on-site team will work with you directly, and many buyers go that route. You can also bring your own agent, and because Stanley Martin Homes, like most production builders, typically pays the buyer’s agent, having your own representation usually costs you nothing. We lay out the pros and cons of each path, and what each costs you at the design center and at closing, in a separate guide.

Does Stanley Martin build single-family homes in Richmond?

Some, but most of its current Richmond communities are townhomes or townhome-style condos. Gayton Village in the West End is its main single-family offering today. If you specifically want a detached new home, that narrows the list quickly, and we can show you how it compares to the other builders on this page.

Where does Stanley Martin Homes build in the Richmond area?

Across the region: Henrico (Glen Allen and the Short Pump / Gayton corridor) and Chesterfield (Midlothian). Prices run from the low $300s for townhomes and condos to about $400,000, so the right Stanley Martin Homes community depends a lot on which part of the region you want and what you want to spend.
