The first Richmond Pickle Party runs Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 8, 2026, across the Arts District and Jackson Ward, with a First Friday block party on Brook Road as the centerpiece, according to RVAHub. Trevor Dickerson reported the schedule in an October 21 article. This post is our own summary, with local context added. More local events are on our Richmond events page.
Friday, November 6
The Richmond Moon Market brings more than 40 local vendors, food trucks and pickle makers to Brook Road for the First Friday Block Party and Art Walk, with market hours listed as 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and DJ Ease the Architect providing music, per RVAHub. Gallery5 opens its “Art of the Pickle” exhibition that night and announces the winners of the Richmond’s Best Pickle contest. Performers include the Dogwood Brothers, Buckville Hootenanny with a pickle-themed rock opera called Fields on Fire, and Tess Fisher.
All weekend and Sunday
Dozens of Arts District businesses are running pickle-themed specials, per RVAHub: pickle pizza at Bar Solita, fried pickles at GWARbar, a “What’s the Dilly” cocktail at Lillie Pearl and pickle chips and dip at Mama J’s Market. Other activities include pickle tattoo flash at Moving Mountains Tattoo Collective, Pickles and Pilates at Pink Mat Pilates, a pickle photo booth at Glass Eye Studios and a Pickle Bouquet Bar at Field and Floral Design. Chaotic Forager runs workshops at Bar Solita, and the weekend closes with a Pickle Variety Show and brunch at Gallery5 on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Some activities need sign-up through the festival site, rvapickleparty.com. RVAHub does not list admission prices, so check the site for costs. The organizers are Gallery5, Richmond Moon Market, the Arts District Business Alliance, Virago Alley and the Artisan Pickle Club.
Getting there and what is nearby
GRTC publishes bus routes for the downtown area, and the City of Richmond posts street closure notices for events. First Friday evenings bring more foot and car traffic to the blocks around Brook Road, which is worth knowing if you are touring a home nearby.

If you are house hunting around the Arts District
Events like this show you a neighborhood at its busiest, which is useful, but one weekend is not a full picture. If you are looking at a condo or townhome near Jackson Ward, Carver or Monroe Ward, visit on a quiet weeknight as well as on a First Friday, and ask the seller about parking and street noise. We cover what is moving through the city process in our Jackson Ward planning post. Our Halloween events post shows another busy weekend calendar.
